It is a sign of Spring, and it is on the front of the Castle. It hangs like a mauve mist. All winter the castle stands folorn and wet and shrouded in mist or fine drizzle sometimes buffeted by high winds, but now the blush of mauve creeps over the port cullis and the flagstones. It curls and frames all the windows and reaches to the sky and the crenelated roof tops.

Nearby is the ancient copper beech tree that is who knows how old, it is slowly and gradually turning a peach colour that is just the beginning of its growing journey. It becomes more pink and orange. Behind it stands a real castle from the 14th century.

And beside as you follow the path to the river are the bluebells in season. It is like a song from a the musical ‘Camelot’

But we are very near to Glastonbury so we are in the realm of the ancient kingdom of Arthur.
Glastonbury Abbey, located in Somerset, England, is a historic site rich in medieval, Saxon, and legendary history. Once one of England’s wealthiest and most influential monasteries, it is traditionally associated with Joseph of Arimathea in the 1st century, the burial place of King Arthur, and early 7th-century Saxon foundations.
